Social Welfare Programs for India's Underprivileged
The Foundation's social welfare work is guided by a simple belief: when people need help, help should be provided wherever possible. Over the years, the Foundation has supported families and villages through a range of initiatives, from emergency relief during the COVID-19 pandemic to improvements in water access and local infrastructure.
Food Distribution During COVID-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, the Foundation distributed food, groceries and essential household supplies to thousands of families in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. Many households faced sudden loss of income and uncertainty about meeting basic needs. Working with local volunteers and well-wishers, the Foundation helped ensure that food and essential supplies reached families during a difficult period.
Clean Water for Rural Communities
Access to clean drinking water remains a challenge in many villages. In Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, the Foundation has supported the installation of more than ten hand pumps and other water-access projects. These hand pumps provide water for drinking, cooking and everyday household use, reducing the distance many residents would otherwise travel to collect water.
Welfare Centre and Village Infrastructure
The Foundation supported the construction of a welfare centre for a Dalit settlement in rural Uttar Pradesh. The facility is used for meetings, educational activities, weddings and other social gatherings.
The Foundation has also supported road repairs and other local infrastructure projects that make it easier for residents to travel within and between villages.
Responding to Local Needs
Not all needs can be planned in advance. Over the years, the Foundation has provided assistance whenever circumstances required it, whether in response to emergencies, local requests or unexpected challenges. This spirit of service continues to guide the Foundation's work today.
