Free Quality Education for Children in Uttar Pradesh
Founded on the belief that education creates opportunity, the Foundation supports students through a fully funded school in rural Uttar Pradesh and scholarships for deserving young people facing financial hardship.
Noorul Islam Public School
Education has long been a priority for the Tahera & Idris Farooqui Foundation. In 2010, the Foundation adopted Noorul Islam Public School in rural Uttar Pradesh, a school originally established in 1939. Prior to the Foundation's involvement, the school had faced financial and operational challenges that threatened its future.
Since then, the school has expanded from a small primary institution serving students up to Grade 4 to a full secondary and senior secondary school offering education through Grade 12. Today, approximately 400 students receive free education, textbooks and other essential learning materials.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
The Foundation also supports deserving students beyond its own school. From time to time, scholarships and financial assistance are provided to students who demonstrate academic promise but lack the financial means to continue their education.
Wherever possible, fees are paid directly to schools, colleges and educational institutions. While the number of scholarships available each year is limited, the Foundation hopes to expand the programme and support more students in the years ahead.
